Rachel Ehmke is the latest young person to lose their life to bullying as the thirteen year old girl committed suicide after being bullied for months. According to friends and family Rachel Ehmke was bullied relentlessly by a group of girls at Kasson-Mantorvill Middle School in Kasson Minnesota. Right now school officials are investigating and there is a chance that criminal charges may be filed against the girls accused of bullying Rachel Ehmke but in the end that is not enough as another child has lost their lives due to bullying and a school that failed to protect one of their students. Rachel left behind a suicide note that read ‘I’m fine = I wish I could tell you how I really feel.’

Amanda Cummings was just fifteen years old when her young life was extinguished. Amanda was constantly picked on by bullies at her Staten Island school and when a recent relationship ended Amanda Cummings made the tragic decision to take her own life. Amanda suicide did not end quick and when the fifteen year old was fighting for her life in the hospital the bullies would still not leave this poor child alone and attacked her again through social networks such as Facebook. A group of bullies picked on Teddy Molina for years at his school in Corpus Christi, Texas to the point the young man quit school and unfortunate a few weeks later would take his own life. The group of students who called themselves the “Wolf Pack” have not been identified publicly and so far no charges have been pressed against them for their role in the suicide death of Teddy Molina. Now Teddy Molina family wants answers and want someone to be held accountable and have decided to sue the FBISD (Flour Bluff Independent School District) for their role in failing to protect Teddy Molina.

Little Maria Herrera was twelve years old and in the sixth grade when she took her own life due to bullying in school. According to her friends and family Maria Herrera was teased because she wore braces and the bullies went so far as to cutting her hair. Maria Herrera parents went to the school to make them aware of the bullying and for them to do something but the school ignored their pleas. Maria Herrera even told a guidance counselor at school that she had thoughts of suicide and again the twelve year old pleas for help were ignored. In the end twelve year old Maria Herrera would take her own life and the school refuses to accept responsibility

Hunter Layland was just fifteen years ago when he took his own life as the result of school bullying. Hunter Layland was involved in a car accident that left a scar on his face and damage to his hearing and instead of classmates being supportive they teased him constantly. Hunter Layland parents wanted their son’s story to be made public in the hope that others can see the power of school bullies and the effect that it has on kids. Initially the town of Cleburne Texas reported that Hunter Layland death was by a self inflicted gunshot but they said there were no reports of any bullying that may have lead to the fifteen year old taking his own life. Family and friends completely disagree.

Sladjana Vidovic was just sixteen years old when she took her own life after constant bullying at school. Sladjana Vidovic had recently moved to Mentor Ohio from Croatia and instead of finding friendship she found fellow students who tease her about her name, bully her about her accent and made her life a living hell. After Sladjana Vidovic took her own life it opened the door to three other suicides that had taken place in the small community in the previous two years. Parents of Sladjana Vidovic and of another teen who took their life sued the school claiming among other things the schools inability to protect their children. When the parents of the teens asked for the records of what the school did to keep their children safe the school replied that the files were destroyed when they switched over their records to computer format. Mentor Ohio was once named one of the best places to live in the United States but with Sladjana Vidovic suicide and three others in such a short time span I find this very hard to believe

Friends and family say that Haylee Fentress and Paige Moravetz say that the two girls were picked on at school to the point where suicide seemed like the only solution. Haylee Fentress was a recent transplant in the small Minnesota town and had told her family that she was being bullied at school. Unfortunately the deaths of Haylee Fentress and Paige Moravetz were among seven suicides in this part of Minnesota in the last two years.

According to friends and family Joseph Mendes was the target of bullies and the school did little if anything to step in. Joseph Mendes father is now in the process of suing the school for not protecting his child and claiming that Joseph was verbally, physically, mentally, and emotionally abused by his fellow students. Rhianna Morawitz was a beautiful and talented fourteen year old girl who took her own life after being bullied at school. According to Rhianna Morawitz father his daughter was the focus of bullies who picked on the talented fourteen year old girl. The school in Wichita Kansas is saying they were aware of an incident that took place in the school last week but due to privacy laws refused to comment what action, if any, the school took to protect Rhianna Morawitz. Rhianna was new to the school after transferring from another Wichita school as her parents thought the smaller school would provide a better environment for their daughter. Part of the reason for the transfer is this particular school telling Rhianna Morawitz about their zero tolerance to bullying.

Seth Walsh was only thirteen years old when he took his own life following bullying in school. Seth Walsh was only enrolled in his middle school for two weeks when the constant verbal abuse forced the thirteen year old to drop out of school and continue his education through a independent course of study. Unfortunately shortly after Seth Walsh would attempt to take his own life leading to ten days on life support and in the end the machines keeping this child alive were turned off. Nobody was charged in this senseless crime as California does not have any laws regarding school bullying. Seth Walsh was just thirteen years old.
